Hysterectomy can be life-saving, life-changing, and deeply complex — emotionally, physically, and relationally. Despite this being a procedure that many women endure, women often feel isolated, confused, or misunderstood as they navigate it.
This is why I’m offering a new Hysterectomy Support Group, created to provide informed, compassionate, medical trauma-sensitive space for processing, support and connection for women before or after hysterectomy. Regardless of when your surgery occurred or will occur, you are welcome here. This group is designed to honor the whole experience, not just the medical outcome.
Why a Hysterectomy Support Group?
Hysterectomy is often discussed in clinical terms — recovery timelines, surgical success, symptom reduction — but the emotional and psychological impact is frequently minimized or ignored.
Women may experience:
Grief related to fertility, body changes, or identity
Relief mixed with sadness or anger
Medical trauma or distrust after years of being dismissed
Loneliness, confusion and stress during recovery
Complex feelings that don’t fit tidy narratives
This group exists to combat isolation and process together, in a space that is endometriosis (and adenomyosis) informed and sensitive to medical trauma. You do not need to justify your feelings here. All responses — including ambivalence — are welcome.
In this space, we will:
Share experiences in a supportive, contained environment
Explore the emotional complexity of hysterectomy
Gently process grief, anger, fear, relief, and meaning-making
Foster connection and collective understanding
Honor nervous system needs during recovery and trauma processing

Why Community Matters in Healing
While individual therapy can be incredibly helpful, there is something uniquely healing about being witnessed by others who truly understand. Community can reduce shame, normalize complex emotions, and remind us that we are not alone in our experiences.
This group is an invitation to step out of isolation and into collective healing, with resonant, compassionate connection.
